Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus is a Action/Hack and Slash game published by Marvelous, Tamsoft released on October 14, 2014 for the PlayStation Vita.
Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus is a 3D hack-and-slash fighter that plays through a rivalry of four ninja schools. The game features 20 playable characters over each school’s story arc, character missions, competitive multiplayer up to four players, and plenty of fan service.
The DLC includes most, if not all, of the pieces from the Pure Colors Set, Shinovi Hairstyle set, and Santa Set.
Review: The variety of character movesets is healthy and the game looks alright (except for the low-resolution clothing textures) and you have enough control with movement and combat options for your character. However, the game’s combat suits itself better to the musou portions of the missions before the character fights. You can instantly dash-cancel your moves some moves, which does dampen the combat, fighting other characters when you’re in school outfits feels useless because secret arts are locked, and online play with four players is a complete mess. The game takes a decent in frames during more sizable fights, multi-hit combos, or while using secret arts and can stay at the low twenties and hit the mid-teens in the arena mode. I recommend using Amphetamin, which practically locks the single-player at 30 FPS, has the arena mode almost always stay at 30 FPS, and increases load times by one to two seconds (load times are around 20 seconds).
