Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited is a Tactical RPG game published by Nippon Ichi Software, NIS America released on August 12, 2014 for the PlayStation Vita.
Description from my PS3 post: Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten
Disgaea 4 is the fourth game in the Disgaea franchise sporting a new look using higher quality sprites along with a more fluid battle system.
The story starts with an introduction of Valvatorez, a vampire and former tyrant, and his servant, the werewolf Fenrich. Valvatorez has become much weaker since his tyrant days due to his refusal to drink human blood and now he is a mere Prinny Instructor in Hades prison. He now consumes sardines and believes it to be a proper alternative to blood, much to the chagrin of Fenrich.
The plot is about Valvatorez’s rise in the coup d’état of the current Netherworld regime.
The gameplay is standard grid based Strategy except you can plan out your strategies instead of everyone attacking one at a time.
First you move your characters and set their attacks then select Execute to start your attack chain.
If a character uses a regular Attack, they have a chance to
perform what is called a Team Attack with up to 3
adjacent characters (Proc chance is displayed in a window).
Skill system is different from Disgaea 1 and 2, you use Mana to buy everything. (You can get your skills earlier considering you got enough MP for them)
Magichange from Disgaea 3 stays but wait there’s now Monster Fusion when you have two adjacent monsters, which leads to….. Giant Weapon Magichange. There’s also Dual Magichange but that’s pretty hard to obtain.
