Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland is a RPG game published by Gust, Koei Tecmo Games released on March 19, 2013 for the PlayStation Vita.
Atelier Totori Plus is a remake of Atelier Totori, which debuted on the PS3. It is the 12th game in the Atelier series and the 2nd game in the Arland trilogy.
Atelier Series Description
The Atelier games are a series of “crafting” time management RPGs where you gather materials from the field and monsters and use them to synthesize a variety of items via alchemical reactions. The synthesis system, although simple in practice, gives you a decent amount of customization on your items. Throughout the game, you will be obtaining better materials, which you will then use to make and remake items for better effects.
Every few months, you will be given assignments where you turn in specific items or perform the main goal given along with a bunch of sub goals that you should complete for maximum benefits.
Other than that, the game is pretty open world. You gather and craft, gather and craft, rinse and repeat. And trigger events to interact with the other characters in town.
If you want some CHALLENGE, there are some optional bosses that require alot of preparation to defeat in late and post game.
Here’s an example from Atelier Meruru on the PS3
Atelier Totori Plus Description
If you read Rorona Plus’s description, I’ll tell you this was the first game to be remade, not Meruru.
As a result, this remake didn’t get revamped like Rorona/Meruru Plus and it’s just a port of the PS3 version, making this the weakest of the three Vita games since the Arland trilogy wasn’t really that intuitive until Meruru in my opinion.
The story of Totori takes place 5/8 years after Rorona depending on which region you played. (Many of the characters’ ages in Rorona were altered during localization).
Well, Rorona is 22 years old in Totori if you want a nice round number. (The ages in Totori, on the other hand, actually matches the Jap version)
Totori is a young aspiring alchemist that is the student of Rorona after the events of the first game.
Her mother is a famous adventurer that stopped returning home a couple years ago and so Totori goes out to become an adventurer herself to find the whereabouts of her mother.
