Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist of Dusk is a RPG game published by Gust, Koei Tecmo Games released on January 13, 2015 for the PlayStation Vita.
Atelier Ayesha Plus is a remake of Atelier Ayesha, which debuted on the PS3. It is the 14th game in the Atelier series and the 1st game in the Dusk trilogy
Atelier Series Description
The Atelier games are a series of “crafting” time management RPGs where you gather materials from the field and monsters and use them to synthesize a variety of items via alchemical reactions. The synthesis system, although simple in practice, gives you a decent amount of customization on your items. Throughout the game, you will be obtaining better materials, which you will then use to make and remake items for better effects.
Every few months, you will be given assignments where you turn in specific items or perform the main goal given along with a bunch of sub goals that you should complete for maximum benefits.
Other than that, the game is pretty open world. You gather and craft, gather and craft, rinse and repeat. And trigger events to interact with the other characters in town.
If you want some CHALLENGE, there are some optional bosses that require alot of preparation to defeat in late and post game.
Atelier Ayesha Plus Description
The first game in the next trilogy. The Dusk trilogy, characterization-wise, isn’t really as strong as Arland. On the other hand, the alchemy system was changed to be “elements-based” instead of “materials-based”, which makes it easier to exploit for better item effects if done right.
The battle system in Dusk games is also arguably better if you care about that sort of thing with the best battle system in a while for the series appearing in the next game, Escha & Logy. Ayesha’s battle system is kinda meh compared to the next game though.
The time limit is also more forgiving compared to Arland but that’s relative and a complete beginner could still be overwhelmed.
The story is about a young alchemist named Ayesha, who’s sister was “spirited away” a few years ago but, at the ruins near her house, Ayesha meets what is believed to be an illusion of her sister, Nio. Thinking that Nio is still out there somewhere, Ayesha sets out to find her.
