Growing up, I was a Twisted Metal fan. Had the original on the PSX/1, worked in a rundown supermarket to get my measly paycheck, which was spent on Twisted Metal 2.
Then came Twisted Metal 3, and I hated it, taking many hours of time to learn the new controls, and blaming 989 Studios for butchering the franchise.
I skipped Twisted Metal 4, and thus, Twisted Metal Black was the next game I had.
Quite frankly, one of the best games of all time, let alone a TM title.
Later in life, I played TW: Head On, and in my opinion, that is what TM 3 should have been. Finally, we can legit play as DarkTooth!!
So when 2012 came around, and this series reboot debuted on the PS3, I was burned out, and really didn’t give a hoot. After getting my hands on it, a mere week ago, it’s quite fun. Granted, not as fun as TM 2, or Black was, but still solidly fun nonetheless.
Give it a go, weather you grew up with the series from 1995, or are a new to the beloved psychotic clown freak show we call Twisted Metal, you will scream. But I have a feeling, Ice Cream, rather heat seeking rockets, flaming scythes of death, and a psychotic clown super show will make you feel the pain.
