In this game, you play the role of a young high school student again attending Shujin Academy for one year while you are on probation due to a “crime” you committed in defense towards a man that was attempting to sexually assault a young woman in the silence of night.
As such, you are labeled a criminal and the student base is generally hostile at you except for a few.
As the story goes on, you obtain a mysterious app that allows you to travel the boundaries between worlds and enter “Palaces”, structures formed from the distorted desires of individuals and you and your entourage, the Phantom Thieves, set out to correct these individuals’ wickedness by defeating them and stealing their “Treasure”, the root of the distorted desires within the Palace.
Gameplay wise, it is for the most part similar to Persona 4 but there is a sleeker presentation to both the story and dungeons/battles.
Two new elements have been re-added back: Psy and Nuclear and guns now have a limited amount of ammo.
