Description by CheeseCake:
Tales of Zestiria is 15th mothership title in the Tales Of series. Its release marks the 20th anniversary of the Tales series as a whole since Tales of Phantasia’s initial release on the Super Nintendo.
The overall story of the game:
An ancient evil has awoken once again and the miasma,
Malevolence, has spread across the land. Arthur Pendra- I mean Sorey the Shephard removes the “Sword of Legend” from its scabbard and journey across the land with his Seraphim,
spirits of the land, to rid the world of evil.
It’s a corruption of the Graces battle system with a non-TP Artes System with two branches of Artes. Martial Artes would be A-Artes while Hidden/Seraphic Artes are the equivalent of B-Artes.
Unlike other games, however, you are only able to have two
human characters and two seraphim in battle. The seraphim is linked to a human so if the human leaves, that’s two characters gone.
Martial Artes is physical combos
Hidden Arties is non-spell weapon artes
Seraphic Artes are traditional Tales series elemental spells but faster cast times
These have a triangle relationship in the game with Hidden -> Martial–> Seraphic–> Hidden
Making a return is the Blast Gauge from Vesperia but you use it to recover SC in battle while extending your combo instead.
It is also used in the gimmick of this game, Armatization.
Armartization is the fusion of Human and Seraph.
It gives you an elements edge in this game and actually makes you extremely overpowered but it has its shortcomings when you’re fighting defense-oriented enemies.
